So I have my new 55 cycling and decided to get my QT going during the process. I picked up 2 awesome clown fish from my LFS and dropped them into my QT. I am using @Humblefish quarantine method. I am using Cupramine which now I am learning Copper Power is easier to keep in the effective range (that will be next time). Both clowns have been happy until today, when one was not eating. Then I noticed the one not eating had quite a bit of "stringy white poo", I have some Metroplex arriving tomorrow and I hope this will cure up what is affecting my 1 clown. Guess the point of all this is, I know there is a tiny war between quarantine vs plop n drop, being new to this hobby I'm really happy that I put these 2 in quarantine and am now able to treat them to get them healthy. Just my 2 tiny not even copper pennies anymore (ok coated with copper, but did they test it with a Hanna?).

Youre on the right track !!

Thank you for the kind words. It just frustrates me a bit when my first purchase of marine fish one of them is sick. I'm happy I did the QT right off the bat but now I just have this urge to join the few and become a QT "zone". Buy a fish from me and it has been through the QT process.
IMHO if all fish seller (from the bottom up) sold true clean/healthy fish there would be more people in the hobby. Their lack of care seems to drive more out of the hobby (because one had ich or something that nuked the tank). I fail to understand how captive breeds of fish can come out with any parasites/infections. They are captive... you have control on their home.
I might just be yelling into the abyss here but dang it! If pathogens still exist it is only because the main suppilers allow them to exist. Cut the snake at the head. Ich can't just "create itself" in a tank, it was brought in. There HAS to be a way where we can at some point not even consider a QT, there has to be some way where we can just buy a fish and plop it in. Just my 2 inebriated cents.

unfourtunally it's all about moving product these days for prob 75% of em all,i would fell more confident acclimating a direct transhipped wild fish or a private breeder than anywhere else ;) sad but true

Quarantine is a major part of the success of this hobby. Understand that lfs now a days are just about moving a fish out. Yes company’s that truly quarantine fish before shipping out exist but come with a high cost. Best bet qt every fish you get. Will save you a lot of money and fish life in the long run
