Kalk seems to not be keeping up with my alk needs.

What is wrong with just doing baking soda and dosing calcium separately?
Baking soda raises alk so much easier. My calcium only needs a 10 ppm bump per month, while alk needs 1 dKH bump weekly.
Am I missing anything?
(I also dose mag, too).

Dosing works okay for me. Just keep up with your water changes for trace elements.

I'm wondering about the merits of baking soda and separate liquid calcium VS. kalk.
