Just bought a 90 gallon. Overflow question

Hello reefers, I just purchased this 90 gallon. The overflow has got me confused. It has a black back, but the glass in front of the overflow is clear. I hate seeing the plumbing. I assume it’s not safe to paint this area because the water flows through there? Any ideas to clean this up? Maybe some abs cut to fit? I’ve included a couple pics that the seller sent me before I bought it

I think you could silicone on a piece of black acrylic and cover that - that would work. Good luck with it

Welcome to the REEF!! I would leave it transparent as overtime it will have enough coralline algae that you wont notice it anyway.
