I haven't tested ph in my tanks for a very long time. I was of the mind that if the big 3 levels were good & stable ph would follow along. well I just wanted to check it out. As how for old 6 years easy. I found it buried in the back of the tank stuff shelves and was pleasantly surprised to see it power up ! It will surely need to be calibrated. I still have the instructions & the calibration solution . my question is do You think this solution is still good? HPIM8645.JPG

Also I purchased the eco ray screw in for the fuge on the 75. The guy had 1 left.It was in his closet of stuff. The colors are white & blue. Nice & bright but the beam is pretty narrow Paid 25$ so we shall see! Anybody familiar with this bulb? Couldn't find any info on line. I need to build some sort of stand in which to hang it. Looking for some ideas . I will post some pics soon to show Ya what I mean ! Thanks

Is this it? link

Thank You Gentlemen. That is indeed the light I have and there is a 2016 expiration date on the ph meter solution. I think I'll use it anyway then have my LFS test also see if they are the same.

evening Gents, I managed to hang the ref light so it hangs vertically. I drilled 2 holes in the metal stand & fit a 1 by 2 board then hung the light from that. drilling that hole in the back was a pita ! My back & knees were killin me the light hangs About 9 inches was as high as I could get it so light spread isn't very big but I think it will work. Hey for 25 bucks? it's worth it to see. Oh Ya I forgot to add. I calibrated the old ph meter. I tested first & got 7.9 , Then calibrated ( with the old solution) and got 8.3 . I 'm going to take this puppy to Jason's shop tomorrow and see if it matches his.

I'm not very happy with the eco ray light I tried. I got a 6 to 9 diameter spot right in the center . The par here was like 600! I few inches away it droped to 50 or so ! The chaeto and dragon's breath I had was starting to bleach.I pulled the bulb & went back to the CP floodlight I was using until I can find another to try. I may try the one You use Jasker.
