A friend of mine just picked up a Purple Tang and placed in QT. He started flashing but didn’t have any spots. I told him to do a FW dip and he removed him at 4:45. Here is what was left. Are these flukes?

I’ve heard Humblefish is back!

I just spoke with him and he is concerned because the Tang is still breathing hard and fast. The Tang is swimming around and was eating very well.

Hard to tell in pic for sure. Ask if they look like sesame seeds.

It probably is flukes.

Quick update, I stopped by my friends house and they are definitely flukes. The fish is in copper now doing well and eating.

You will need to, at some point treat the fish with praziquantel.

Copper may supress the flukes but it won't erradicate them.

The fish can be dipped in FW every 5-7 days as needed to provide relief until copper is finished. Then move to praziquantel.

That is the plan. He is treating for ich first and managing flukes with FW dips until the fish goes to Prazi
