Thank you I have a guy coming Saturday to service tank he going to brush off algae and treatment as neededLike the aquascape, good luck with your reefing journey.
I started my 65g tank in Oct 17 and started with live rock. By Dec I started to see a little bit of GHA. It grew and shrank in the next few months. By April I had one area with a fairly big GHA population, but not a big problem (I thought). We then went away for a week in May and left the AFS on (fed too much, my fault) and when we came back GHA had spread significantly. I then spent the next 10 months fighting it. First step was to get nutrients under control, which I did fairly quickly, but I found that once the GHA got a foothold it was very resilient.
1 week ago I treated the tank with Fluconazole. I was concerned about introducing it into the tank despite all the ‘good press’ so held off for a while but so far it has been fantastic. No issues with fish or corals and the GHA I have appears dead. I am now working to get it out of the tank.
If I had my time over I would have treated the tank with Fluc in Jan 18. I will certainly be using it again if I feel GHA starts to make an inroad again.
