For some reason it is tucking up it's foot and will not latch onto anything. I have acclimated it to the tank water, and have all the powerbeads and pumps off now for about 40 min.
It is beautiful, but is being stubborn as all get out.

How long should I keep my pumps off without having a failure in my tank?

I would turn your pumps back on....the nem will find a spot that it likes based on light and flow. If you turn them off and it foots, it may up and move right after they go back on - you just need to give it time to find a spot - sometimes that may be a few days and not hours.....

All it is doing is falling over and is happy at doing so... it will not take foot at all anywhere..

I would not mind it moving once it does take foot, but I'm more worried about it falling into one of the other 5 nems in the tank.

welp... the pumps are on, and I placed it between the side of the tank and a few rocks.. I gave it enough room to move around if it wants to, but it still has not placed it's foot.

What type of anemone?

What lights was it under? What lights do you have?

Was under led, and is now under leds.
It is a long tentacle that has a red foot and a beautiful florescent green color.

The powerheads are 140's in a 30 gal tank

How deep is your sandbed?

What other anemones do you have in there? Are you running carbon?

Here is a quick pic I just took of it for anyone that knows the actual name for it

no carbon, just running a sump and skimmer
Other nems are 2 BTA, coney, and rock flowers.

sandbed is about 1.5 inches deep. for now it is placed in the corner in a timeout until it behaves :)

Yep, M. doreensis (( LTA )), sandbed dwelling anemone.

How is the bottom of the foot? Any damage at all? Even the size of a pin head?

no damage at all to it, as you can see in the picture, it is all fluffy and happy... I will plunk it in the sandbed and wedge it there in a few min...

They can still be "fluffy and happy", and still have damage to the foot.

1.5 inches is a bit shallow for one, could make it locally deeper.

In addition, they aren't fans of lots of flow.

Would consider running carbon with 3 other species of anemones in there.

Here is a pic of the foot.. I don't see any damage to it.I can add more ground for it.. I have a 10gal I'm breaking down

There is very little flow throughout the tank.. I made sure of it for all my nems.

It looks okay, but don't like how it is pinched in a bit --- keep an eye on it.

I will keep a good eye on it, I have a space cleared in the bottom of the tank in the sanded for it.
It might still be ****** off from the clownfish at the pet store hosting in it.

He looks pretty good. Put him in low to moderate flow area and let him root in the sand. When they get happy, their tents get long.

cant wait for it to be happy, I'll be adding more substrate for it tomorrow morning when I finish ripping down the 10 gal.
I will also have to aquascape a little since it is not where my BTA was dwelling.. good thing the BTA was on a small rock :)
