Just got a new skimmer

Just got the macro aqua m-50 need some help the cup is fill up like in 30 min with the intake an outtake pretty much closed and if opeN forms even more any pointer in like that what to do

Morning. Sounds like the skimmer is to low in the sump. you need to raise it to find that sweet spot. Also a new skimmer has a break in period. sometimes last a week. Be patient.

Also a new skimmer has a break in period. It will over Skim for a while it is normal but it is important to have it set at the correct water height.

As was pointed out make sure it’s set at the proper depth, open the outlet all the way and if you can adjust the intake or pump dial that back. They need time to break in and It’s also a good idea to run your new skimmer in a bucket with water and vinegar before using.
