Just got a used APEX...what to do first

starting to figure this thing out a bit more. havent plugged anything from the tank into it yet, but getting it all in order and learning the functions. I gotta say, dang this this is the bees knees and has so many possibilities its crazy!! I can see why people LOVE their apex so much, I had no clue. Looking forward to learning the system and the program language to be able to access some of the more evolved features.

@ksfulk Ill definitely PM, that would be super cool and thanks for the offer. I think seeing how somebody else has theirs programmed and layed out would help immensely!

If you ever have any problems shoot me a pm . got a couple things going on with my apexes plus it does get complicated sometimes in the advanced setting but enjoy!!!!

I think for now, ill just stick to the basic modes and start thinking about the advanced options. But honestly ive been reading through the manual and peoples threads and its starting to make way more sense. At first I thought i was gonna be lost for a long time. lol

Yea atfirst it gets overwhelming, then you get toooo creative.then you try to get more creative and have a whole mess going on lol but theres alot of neat things that people do nd now i wont run a tank without one lol

I can see how it becomes a must have! Im already hooked. and looking forward to being able to check in on the tank when im away from the house too

I did, but they wont be much help. LOL thats why they got rid of it, because werent using it to its potential and bad internet. So, im on my own as far as locals are concerned, but im a fast learner and have been scouring the sites.

yea, usually asking other users is extremely helpful.
i was using reefkeepers up until a year ago. Extremely convenient, but decided to go low tech.
dont even run a sump, just HOB. but it was neat having automation and wifi access to the rig.

Although i usually just run in real quick to get feeders for the angler, maybe check out some frags and fish briefly, then head out.
I noticed the radions were gone on the frag tank....
...is that what you mean?

i was using reefkeepers up until a year ago. Extremely convenient, but decided to go low tech.
dont even run a sump, just HOB. but it was neat having automation and wifi access to the rig.

Yupp and im deffinitly not smart. Too many euro youtube videos made me do it lol.honestly whatevers easier tank fuge sump ect will keep you in the hobbylong term. The only critical thing i like about the apex is the heating n chilling control as well as ph monitoring control. And sump float switches to turn stuff off because im always out with friends and away from my tanks

But honestly, asking people who are already using is really helpful, and if your running it, its a huge help.
I was only able to run my DA reefkeeper with a friends help. Sure, i couldve ran it without him, but his help user help got me going faster.

Lolol i kno. 100% if at first i didnt ask for help it wouldve took quite some time to get it going. Its incredible what some people do with the breakout box though. Apex forum is very interesting to sift through if you have time theres alot of cool ideas

yeah, upgrading my G2 to the G3 over the DT is gonna be great and use the third on my nano/coral QT. and the apex was something Ive been wanting for awhile but unable to commit, they made it pretty easy.
Now Ill have to sell my barely used G2s and get a couple MP40QD and im all set LOL
