Hi guys, not an expert here!

Is this hole in my maxima normal? Is that a mouth?

All water parameters are fine!

Thanks!

Dude, can't really see anything.
There is supposed to be a mouth and a syphone, yes.
If you take a better pic with white light maybe we can make it out better.

The hole is much smaller with white light.

Looks good.
As said, they love light and don't live on the sand.
Place it on a cradle if you can and move it up.
250+ par to be happy.

That is just the inflow siphon. The other side is the outflow siphon which smaller and round and protrude out.
You should read a little about the animals you are keeping.

thanks! I already did an hour ago!

Thank you! I just order a tridacna holder!

Also, my maxima is roughly 8cm, should be light just fine right or need to supplement?

Buy this book. You should be able to source it somewhere. Also, check out James' website for more info and lots of pics.

As long as the tank water is not squeaky clean and it has plenty of light, no supplement food is needed. Need to make sure Alkalinity and Ca not low.

I just put mine in the sand but I have mine with high light.
You can just place it on a flat piece of rock if you want it attach to something.
