Just learning

I think I need to go back to highschool to take chem. I am having such a hard time testing. ugh it is so frustrating
Welcome!! I often wish I spent more time paying attention in chemistry class as well.

Welcome toR2R! Never too late to learn:)

Welcome home, you will love it here!

I don't really test anything - although I don't recommend this practice. I keep easy coral and my fish tell me when water changes are needed which I confirm with a test for nitrate.

That comes with years in the hobby though. I test nothing else except for copper in QT

Wish I had that confidence

Easy when you keep easy coral only and have experience. Definitely not recommended though!

Haha! Youll get the hang of it. After a bit it gets very annoying, but it starts to get easy when you get the grip on your tanks parameters. Then while you test, you basically know what to expect, so it goes by quick and easy =)

Welcome!! I hate chemistry and will be the first to tell you that I purposely don't do any dosing because of that.
Lolol, i never payed attention to chemistry either, but i find it fascinating now just from the hobby standpoint

Does anyone else hand feed duncans 1 person told me to but my fish place said no I hand feed my shrimp and 1 of my fish
Up to you. Although i never kept duncans, i know that feeding them is somewhat vital to their health from members experiences. So i would, use some pieces of your fish food every so often

Who needs to go on a cruise and be catered to and eat decadent foods when you can dump your money into a reef tank instead! :p I suck at chemistry too. I still sometimes struggle after almost 5 years into the hobby. You're definitely not alone on that, clearly. You'll find all the information and help you need here on these forums and meet some great reefers too! Welcome to the R2R gang and happy reefing! :)

Welcome aboard, Kristigsreef!

So ... you go to someplace warm, put on a dive mask and peer beneath the surface of a crystal blue ocean, but have to leave Paradise a week later, ... or ... you bring Paradise into your living room, all year long.

It could be said that you've scored quite the deal - you can take a mini-vacation any time you wish! (There are some who _wouldn't_ say that, but you may not find an awful lot of 'em here!)

Also, yes - Duncans and most, if not all, LPS corals do like a snack now and then. Frozen foods in smaller sizes are perfect, and can be fed with a turkey baster. (In the interest of domestic tranquility, get one that'll be dedicated to reef-use. Don't use the same one you'll use on Thanksgiving . . . )
