Yesterday, I noticed there was a body of the cleaner shrimp lying on the sand and I assumed it was a molt. It turns out it wasn’t since I couldn’t find it anywhere in the tank. It seems weird because I still have my fire shrimp and I never lost a shrimp or even a coral.

I bought it a year ago while it was already like 1.5-2 inches big. It has molted several times and became around 2.5-3 inches big. It never got bullied and has been eating well. I made no changes to the tank other than weekly maintenance. I am positive it’s not due to my water quality since I have all types of corals that are growing and encrusting.

Should I just mark it as a natural death??

Water parameters:

Temp - 77-78 °F
Salinity - 1.026
Alkalinity - 9.4
Nitrates - 1-2 ppm
Ammonia - 0
Nitrites - 0

Quadruple check. Our last tank we "lost a shrimp" after multiple molts and he showed up a month later. 120 gallon tank and it was a big shrimp.

Wow, that’s crazy! I will check it again and my tank is a 75g.

Go through it with a fine tooth comb. Cross the t's and dot the lower case j's. He is probably there.

2 to 3 years is about average.

Yeah, they aren’t particularly long lived. If everything else is doing fine, I’d chalk it up to that and move on...
Yeah, it seems to be a natural death. I tried feeding frozen food which is the cleaner‘s favorite and only my fire shrimp came.

Do the eyes molt too? Might be a way to check, I keep meaning to check mine shimp’s next molt.

Thr only thing I picked up on in your post was that it molted several times, mine molts about every 3 weeks, is that about the same for your?

If I remember correctly, I don’t see the eyes in a molt, but I didn’t check the last one. Yes, my shrimp molts every 3-4 weeks.
