So I just switched over from t5 to led. I was running a 6×54 watt t5 and now have 2 evergrow 165 watt led fixture. How long should I wait before I start to ramp up the leds? I am currently running them at about 20%

I recently just got 120ws chinese ones off ebay and I have sps and lps I turned a little bit every day and when I would hit 25 50 75 id let sit for 2 days see how everything was then kept going up and everything is happy and growing

A good starting point with this type of LED fixture is to run White channel at 20-25% and Blue channel at 40-45% then bump up a little every 4 or 5 days until you get to around 35-45% White and 55-65% Blue. You can do slight adjustments towards blue or white as to your preference but close to this overall intensity is all that is needed and any more typically can/will do more harm then good.

Cheers, Todd

P.S. Height above tank and optics should also be taken into consideration.

Thanks guys for the input. I thought it looked a little dark when I had both channels as low as I did. I was just nervous about turning them up more. I'll increase the percentage in the morning and see how everything does.

I'm only about 8" off the water and have 90° optics.

When I went from T5, all ATI bulbs, to LED I started with Blue at 100% peak and slowly ramped up the white over 2 weeks from 50% at peak to 100% now. If anything the corals needed more light, not less, but I feed heavily so that might make the difference.

Im currently around 8-10" off the water and i run on a timer for 9hrs made my own daylight fade timer with the white and blue and corals and everything are loving it
