I got to thinking about the flow pattern I will want when I setup the 118. I just didn't like version 1 pattern on the OM drum. So, I modded it into a version 3!

It took about 10 minutes, a drill press, forstner bit and a file.

Here it is before:

Then I put on some blue tape and traced the opening being careful to line the tape up EXACTLY with the top edge:

I then moved the tape to the opposite side, again, lining exactly to the top edge:

Then, I drilled a hole on either side of the outline with a 1.25" forstner bit (I checked the fit of several until one matched the curve). Then I just popped out the waste piece and filed the flats at the top and bottom of the opening and ended up with this:

I wish I would have taken a pic during and after the drilling step but I was working by myself and it was really fast.

The whole mod took about 20 minutes including disassembly and reassembly of the OM and I save $45 in the process.

Enjoy!

The finished pic looks like the opening isn't the same because of the flash. But, if it weren't for a scratch on the inside I made with the file, I can't tell them apart.
