First time dosing medical grade nitrate and I misread. I put 292 ppm into my tank instead of 10 ppm. I know....I know..

It's a 40 gallon capacity tank in a 55 gallon. I use Red Ea salt and have had 5 gallons mixed for 5 hrs and sitting for 2 hrs with another 5 gallons 2 hrs into mixing.

I know I need to WC asap...should I wait my normal 24 hrs after mixing salt?

I think you are fine doing water changes after it mixes a couple hours. Not ideal but it will be fine. Also, IMO dosing nitrate can cause more problems than it fixes. Especially if your tank is reasonably new. Just feed more and go the natural route.

Really you don’t even have to do that. 5 gal of water that is 5 or even 10 degrees colder than your tank will not significantly change the temp of the water in your display.

Doesnt take much to bring a 5 gallon bucket up 8 degrees from room temp and compare alk and salanity quickly.

I just beat 3 months of gha and really don't want more algae
