Finally taken the plunge and bought an apex! (I know it may be a little overkill as I’ve a nano, 30 litre) But love my reef tank!
Anyone know whether a Ecotech Radion XR15 and TMC reef skim nano are fully compatible with Apex?
I’m unsure of the full
Capability of the Apex yet as I’ve not had it (coming Tuesday) But any suggestions on how to use it to its full capability would be appreciated. :)
I’m so excited for it to arrive.
Thanks all
Emma :)

you will be able to control items that are not wireless through the outlets it comes with. You can manually turn them on and off, schedule them, or set them up to cut off for so many minutes when you feed. The apex walk through for set up is actually awesome. Very easy to use.

Hi Emma,
Welcome to the Apex Club!!!! Be sure to stop by here if you need any assistance or have questions. We are all here to help...

Also it's not overkill. I've seen gorgeous nano tanks controlled by Aquarium Controllers. Sometimes a small tank can be more challenging. The smaller the water volume, parameters can shift faster. What kinds of coral do you Keep?

Thanks, I will do :)
At the moment I’ve got acans, mushrooms and Kenya tree (A.K.A the weed !)- grows like crazy..... to the point it’s getting uncontrollable! Looking into starting SPS corals.
You’re right.... maintaining parameters in my nano is an absolute nightmare!, as well as trying to attach/move corals onto rocks etc, due to the limited space, manoeuvring my hands around the tank isn’t easy!
I’d love a reefer 170, but I’m petrified that moving my livestock would potentially stress them out and kill them. Also, I’ve no idea where I’d start with moving tanks.
Would it need to cycle again as an example if I’m using the same live rock/sand etc?
Thanks
Emma

I think you would be OK moving your live stock into the Reefer 170. Your live rock would have plenty of biological as far as being concerned about a mini cycle. Softies and some lps would probably make it over no problem.
