So, I have a 55 gallon reef tank with three SunSun "1800" gph recirculating pumps. I researched the Jebao wavemakers for two months trying to figure out which to get to replace my existing set up. I finally broke down and bought a Jebao PP-8. Set on W1 "Square Pulse" at full amplitude, it has about the same flow as one of the SunSun 1800s except with pulsed wave motion. If you were thinking of going the Jebao route, I would recommend two PP-8s for a 55 gallon. After a couple of hours playing around with positioning, I ended up with the Jebao on one end pointed slightly upward, one SunSun on the center of the back wall pointed toward the front, and one SunSun on the other side pointed up. The Jebao adds a great wave motion. All the corals seem happy and I can see more upward flow from the substrate with the wave motion.

I have the w25 I think is called and works great

Update. So the Jebao PP-8 daylight sensor works great. Last night the pump went into slow constant nightime mode, and this morning it started back up in the mode I had it set to last night. The stylo, torch, and hammer seem to enjoy the controlled wave motion. The tank had some turbulence with the three recirculation pumps but I believe it was too harsh. The wave motion stirs up the substrate much better than the constant flow. The food particles stay suspended in the water column, allowing pretty much everyone to eat.

I like the PP-8 with at least two recirculation pumps for a 55 gallon. The recirc pumps provide enough water flow to keep the rocks clean and the PP-8 wave action takes care of the substrate. Together this system provides a great environment for my fish, shrimp, urchins, and corals.
