Hello fellow reefers. I'm new to R2R but have been in the hobby off and on for about 20 years. I live in Los Angeles but work often in Houston and the DC area. I recently redid my 50G tank of 5 years in April 2015 after an outbreak of caulerpa. It's a mixed SPS, LPS and softies under a DIY LEDs. I think they are getting too much light so I should dial them back. Attached is a pic of the new setup 8 months after the remodel. Some of the corals have been with me for 10 years in previous tanks. I am looking forward to sharing information with you.

Yoo, Welcome to R2R my friend.
Glad to have you here and glad to help out on your light issue.

You sure it's the light?
What kind of light you running?
Any idea where your Po4 and No3 is?

Btw, next time when you're in Houston wave at me :)

I'm pretty sure it's the lights. The SPS are getting pastel. It's a DIY kit from Rapid LED. I have to turn down the Royal blues and add some violet and UV LEDs and remove some cool whites. That will be my weekend project. I'll wave as I drive by.

How long do you have this light running and ever did a PAR test?

Oh and my pO4 is 0 and NO3 is 0

With your Po4 and No3 at 0 (which isn't really 0) but as you test will tell you, pretty sure you staving your corals as follows the pastel colors.
Tagged the squad in here to help you out to pinpoint your real problem but not sure it's your light only.
Before you change out any LED's give us a chance to look further in your case.

pastel colors are not due to lights solely.

you dont have the nutrients to fuel the lights you have.

too often people state pale or bleaching to lights.

acros can handle 2k par and it is well known.

your nutrients are lacking. that is that
you can also go bluer in the light spectrum

Thanks. Maybe I should feed more. Would turning the skimmer off help?
