Hello
I am just starting up a 14 Gallon biocube this is going to be my 2nd salt tank and I am just looking for any mods to make to my tank to make it more reef friendly.

I also have a 14 gallon biocube and the first thing I did was ditch the bio balls. I also got a inTank media basket and put filter floss in the top, Chemipure in the middle and cheato in the bottom. I upgraded the stock pump to a MJ900 with a Hydor FLO Rotating Water Deflector. I also put a JBJ Nano-Glo on the back for the cheato. And the final upgrade I got was a StevesLED retrofit kit. I do not use a skimmer, I just make sure that I keep up on my water changes and so far I have been running without any major problems.

Will the skimmer that u suggested fit in the back of the tank? And I actually ditched the bio balls last night I am still in the proses of cleaning the tank out because I bought it used and it was a mess.

Hey I am new to the Hobbit and to R2R am starting a 40 breeder tank and don't know what size should I drill my tank for a overflow a 1" or a 1 1/2"

What about a darker colored live sand? Can I put Black sand in it?
i have black sand in mine and havent noticed any problems, i believe its live Hawaiian black sand. i like how you dont see debris/small diatoms as much with the black substrate.
