Maybe want to go in another direction, fill my 80 gal with small fish, about 30 or so. Here is my idea.
Banded Hi Fin, Randall's and Pink Bar shrimp gobies 4-6 of them. Blue Gudgeon, Zebra darts and Red Firefish 14-18 of these total. Tailspot blenny, Neon goby pair, diamond goby for sand work so thats 4 more. Pink streaked and Possum wrasse with a Court Jester goby for 3 more. A trio of Royal Gramma and a single Cherub angel 4 more. For the big show fish and must have is a Copperband butterfly and likely a Lemonpeel mimic/ chocolate tang for the final 2 fish. This all will go in a 80 gal with a generous footprint of 48x24 so the only real stretch will be the mimic tang. I know from previous experience these guys grow pretty slow and I want to start with a tiny one anyway so I dont see any issue for some time at the least.
This assembled group is almost entirely very peacefull fish and I think will make a active and colorful display. My biggest question is has anyone ever kept a large group of Dartfish and Firefish before and how did it work out? Thoughts and suggestions anyone?

I would only go for 3 of the shrimp gobies only because I wouldn’t be 100% sure they could work out. I would then add another 2 possum or pink streaked (I would honestly add another 2 of both species and have a total of 7 wrasse - That could push it though) but that’s just me liking these two small wrasses.

Way too many fish. Borderline irresponsible. Maybe ok for a 350 gallon, except the consensus is one fire fish or a bonded pair. They tend not to tolerate their own kind when mature and confined to a tank.

My philosophy is almost every fish show have a couple of holes or caves to sleep and hide in.

Honestly, IMO if it’s only a starting home then this would be okay - I have 10 fish and all of them get between 3 and 9 inch, this is in a 100g 4’ tank (48”x24”x18”) and I would say 20-25 small fish would be okay - Also remember the fish they mentioned stay around 2” at max

The shrimp gobies should do well together as they frequently tolerate each other and while I adore the possum and pink streaked I just want to stay with one of each.
While I understand the concern for the amount of fish these are mostly quite small and low energy fish to say the least so I dont feel the bioload is overwhelming yet alone irresponsible. I also understand the concern with the Firefish which is why I was asking for any with previous experience. I know the Blue Gudgeon and Zebra are okay as a mixed group and I was hoping with this mix the firefish would be okay as well, if not then just one of the firefish.

I think the fire fish could be okay in a mix as there’s enough room for them all, and yeah I know most of them are low energy fish - Cryptics aren’t low energy though although yes they are calmer wrasses along with the leopards and possums
