Just wanted to share my good luck!

I was at my Lfs and saw a beautiful unidentified angel. They told me it was a swallowtail. It was vibrant and active. Ate frozen food very well. Some quick research showed it is reef safe, peaceful and my tank is big enough! But I also saw the $200 price tag online

. So I asked the dreaded question.... how much?

I do not know if they were unaware of the fish's worth, and I was not about to educate them. I got her for $30!!!!

I know! It was a swallowtail angelfish. Female, about 4 inches

That’s definitely a nice deal. Females aren’t close to $200 though. I usually see them for $60-$70. Great looking fish.

Definitely not $200. They are on average about $60, so you got it for half price. Still a great deal.

I hadn't seen it before so I was going with online prices. I actually like the female colors better. They have a simple beauty.

Pretty! That is a Genicanthus melanospilos I think. Shows around 60-70 online for a female. Maybe you were thinking of the masked version when you said $200. Still a nice deal on a healthy looking fish
