I have often thought about getting a pygmy octopus some day, but if this is their normal behaviour and life cycle, count me out. I'd rather not watch my pet rip itself to pieces, I'm funny that way. lol

Watch "My Octopus Teacher" on Netflix. Pretty cool documentary. I've always thought about setting up an octopus tank. I know they will have to be the only inhabitant and can break out if you don't keep a tight lid.

Fish store by me had one. It would break out of the tank at night, and visit other tanks to feed. Then go back to its own tank before morning.

I'll have to do that, thanks. I watched a video a few years ago of a octopus solving mazes and learning how to escape, it was fascinating.
