i posted a few weeks ago about my funky algae issue, thx for those who gave good advise, I had about 12 asterea turbo snails but those didn't do too much so I purchased about six Mexican turbo snails, wow what an improvement, now from the occasional bubble algae my tank was tuned in, sos growing like weeds etc, then it happened again, my sump cracked!!!!!, second time ,it was a 30 gallon long this time, I had it all perfect, before this I had one of those eshopps sumps, I had bought this when my 20 gallon long sump had broken and flooded my floor, I was trying to get a acrylic sump threw the mail but it came broken three times , so I decided to get a 30 long and a few months later, well, disaster,,so there I am late in the afternoon, going to petsmart to buy another 20 long, trying to take out baffles, silicon them in so that I could install the next day, so I put my heater in the display kept power heads on all night and thought it would all work out,, well next day put it all back together, not like I had it but it will do, then came the cloudy water, I use that hw reefers salt and it is always a little cloudy after water changes, not sure why but I like the parameters so I continue using it, but the cloudy water never cleared up!! Not sur e why, was there a residue in the sump, I cleaned it, wiped it out.. today I woke up, all my sps are white, fish seem fine, snails are fine, lps are not fully open but alive, zoas partially open, lm typing this while waiting for water to mix so ok can do another water change, added a bunch of carbon to help clean the water, hopes that works, tested, everything seems fine, don't know, hope it's not the end, but it might be, just got an acro pack from wwc, all white, ready to give up!!!!

Hopefully the heater in your DT didn't go haywire. A sudden increase in temperature will cause issues with SPS's. Good luck recovering Man!
