just wondering what camera do you use

and what lense the macro 100mm canon also? I just got the bundled Canon 7D with the 28-135 and would love to get A macro lense as soon as I can get the funds or find a deal.

I use a Sony alpha 100 and a cannon 7d with a 100mm macro lense. the cannon is new so I'm still getting use to it, but both have done me very well.

Unfortunantly all I have at the moment is a fuji something or other, not great with macro shots but sometimes gets the color right. Lately though I've been just using my cell to post pics on here..

i'm using a Pentex k100d might not be the best camera but it gets the job done for me. excellent entry level too IMO

buddy of mine has the fuji point and shoot type and that camera takes some sweet macro shots and he paid like 350 or so compared to the 2k i spent it was a nice investment on his part i might buy one now..

i have a canon powershot S5IS, the trick i use to get those macro shots is by putting a binocular lens to the camera and using the zoom as a focus

I have a Canon XSi with a Canon 60mm macro lens for closups. For the full tank shots, I tend to use the stock lens (18-55mm).

canon 50d w/ canon ef-s 60mm f/2.8 macro for shallow top-downs and stuff close to the front of tank glass.

the 100mm would be better to "reach" deeper into a tank from the front.

i use a nikon d3000 with a nikor 85mm macro??" i think lol" i would have to check again when i get home i only used it once it's brand new lol.... none the less i can't use my camera for squat so there is more to cameras than it's self it's about 80 percent of the person standing behind it......lol

I was using the olympus stylus tough 8000 but recently my fiance bought a Nikon D3100. The Nikon is amazing!! I cant wait for a macro lens!!

Definitely get a macro lens when you can because it makes a world of difference. With a macro lens that's 1:1, you can take professional looking pictures in no time!

I dont doubt it. I took a few pictures at a sushi place this weekend and the food almost looked more realistic on my camera then it did in real life. Honestly it is a sick camera!!

I have always liked the sony products have the point and shoot that slides open and shut bought it for the wife and use it more than she does lol..Now on the Alpha series how would you rate that camera I see they have finally come down on price and would love to try it with a macro lens ..have you the macro for your alpha if so can you post a pic or 2 ?

A new Canon 60D w/ Canon EF 28-135mm f 3.5-5.6 IS
WOW what a nice camera.

Anyone know what setup Gary Parr uses?

Cannon 40D, 100mm Macro + 50D to go greater than 1:1
17-55mm for wide angle shots

Yeah the 60D uses the Digic4. Where it really shines in addition to photos is in HD video....and there is an articulated LCD screen that comes in handy for that when you lock up the mirror. So cool and 18 Megapixels! I'm looking forward to getting my reef tank up and running soon to start shooting fish and corals....
