Are the young queen angels fragile? Three of three have died at the fish store and they are good stores with great staff and serious bosses. The adult I got is doing super and was at the store for 6 weeks.

Another subject. It's not going to be possible to add more angels. The Ciliaris is too dominant. How would an Acanthurus Achilles Tang get along. I do have a Zebrasoma Xanthurum that's quite aggressive. The Achilles I'm looking at is twice the Xanthurum's size.

Juvenile queen angels between 2-4” acclimate better than smaller ones, here in Florida, we do have collecting size limits on angelfish, could be their source. How big is your tank & what other angels do you want to add? Achilles tangs are tricky, you’d have to watch the purple when you add it, if the purple acts aggressive, isolate him until Achilles gets established. Or if you can, remove purple tang, redecorate ( to break up his territory), then add them simultaneously, sometimes this works. Worse case scenario, rehome the purple & get your Achilles or don’t get the Achilles

The tank is 180gallon. Have a Xanthometopon. Wanted to put an Imperator and a Navarchus.

The Xanthurum tang attacks all new comers. He attacked the queen and she tore him a new tail. He calmed quickly.

Everyone is getting along super now.

OK, I got the Achilles. Its been harassed but it's not taking it lightly. It looks like it will stop quickly. The Ciliaris couldn't care less. I'm going to place some sump rock wrapped in algae sheets around the tank and see if I can find a "dirty" rock.

Can I get some crossed fingers, prayers, voodoo, what have you.

Thanks,
Mark

Achilles is attempting to take pellets.

Oh, after netting the Achilles in my acclimatizing bucket and raising it to the aquarium level it jumped out and hit the floor. Talk about a 350 dollar gut punch, ouch. It seems no worse for wear.
