I have a 29 gallon reef aquarium with one dominate female Ocellaris Clown. She lost her mate several months ago due to my filter screen coming lose and pulling him into the filter. I bought a young juvenile for her to pair with when it became sexually mature. She took to him well and I did not notice any over aggressive behavior from her, other then the light typical bullying the dominant female displays. I began to notice him staying in the corner of the tank and then coming to the surface after the lights would go out. But he ate well and didn't seem ill or overly stressed until I found him laying on the sand bed. I tapped the glass and he got up like nothing had happened. He seemed fine this morning when I left for work, and I found him dead when upon return. Ideas?

It's very hard to say without seeing the fish. If you didn't fully quarantine the new clown. you will want to be watching all other fish closely for a possible disease outbreak, though.

Thank you, I will keep that in mind.
