hi, can someone give a positive id on this guy? He was sold a a Juvenile Sargassum Trigger. He changes his color from light blue to greenish to gray. But I do not see any of the signature black dots or lines by the cheeks. Is the red on the tail only for them? Or do female blue throats have a similar tail? Thx for any insight!

I was going to buy that fish but it wasn't the sargassum triggerfish we were thinking

She is doing well! Thanks for asking! She is swimming all around the tank. Still a little shy when you first walk up, but she comes out of the rocks after a few seconds. Thanks!

Any color change in your trigger, characteristics?

Looks better than the prior pics. It's definitely a female. I have noticed feeding mine clams on a half shell gas giving it more blue color. My male didn't make it, I was offered a second shot and that too didn't work out. I figured it might have had to do with minimal rock scape so I added rock again. The female seems to really like it even better.

The key, so far for me however is make sure they eat well. They have a fast metabolism.
