Hi Reef2Reef im a new member here and from the North East of Scotland, love looking at a lot of the members tanks. Ive been reefing now for about 3 years starting with my juwel vision 180 eventually going to a cleareal 3x2x2 then changing it needless to say my wife hates me and we have had a few tanks with all the related good and bad things that come along the way. I'm now back to my Trigon 350 which i sold before but luckily it got sold back to me so wow aren't i lucky?

Some Picture to get us going...

I made myself a lid out of some plastic sheeting which has REALLY cut down on evaporation big time, did effect the brightness of the Razor's a bit but just increased the brightness 5% and that sorted that. I dont have a par meter but none of the corals are sulking and to the eye brightness seems same as before only thing i miss which is the shimmer which is only minimal now.

Overall im quite happy at the minute i just need to work on getting my plumbing a bit better organized.

Update 23/02/2015

After getting sick of my sand moving around with my Jebao RW-8 i have placed a very thin layer of Marine Gravel onto the sand to stop it flowing everywhere. I only placd gravel on the front of the tank there is still sand in the middle and back this is to support the sand sifting starfish and possibly the watchman goby although he's not a sand sifting goby i have seen it take sand several times.

I have tried many, MANY times to grow cheato and i have never had any success but its something i really want to do to reduce nutrient levels and have a safe place for coppepod's & amiphipod's. Im using a 6w grow bulb used for plant growth it emits the red and blue colour spectrum that plants need to grow. I had to modify my sump setup slightly so i moved my skimmer to the 1st chamber and the marine pure balls to the second chamber now being used as a refugium. I do plan on buying another bulb but i want to see if there is even slight growth on the cheato if i get some promising signs I'll buy another.

Some replies would be welcomed gives me the motivation to keep updating, Thanks

Great tank! I think it's very pleasing to the eye. I bet the flow is nice in there.

Its a triangular tank so any wavemaker is quite powerful. I love the tank, just wish it looked a bit more new.

Hi James. I also have a trigon 350. Swapped from freshwater to marine a few months back. I didn't have the confidence to drill tank and put in a sump so I'm using a canister filter and a internal skimmer which I have placed in the old bioflow bow and have a 3kdc feeding it from underneath the box. I have a quick question though under my tank in the cabinet there is a sheet of wood that slpits each press, is this not a support or have you braced yours with something. I've been wanting to take it out a while now as space is pretty confined but once again was afraid as I didn't want a floor full of fishys.
