Even though we are in the hottest part of Summer, I know it will be Heater Time soon enough. I want to mount my Heaters, with Magnets. Will the Heater Plastic Bracket, fit in Plastic Counter Sunk Block or the Ring Magnets. The Digital Part of my Thermometers, to the outside glass. The Probes are okay, just Hanging in the Water. Also if there are other applications, post them here. Looking for the Magnet Size, Verses Mounted Item, Verses Thickness of the Glass and Acrylic.

No, I never ordered, because no one responded. Also K&J just referred me back to their website.

What are you trying to do exactly? There are magnetic heater mounts on the market, already.

I've bought a few different varieties of plastic coated magnets from them, what do ya wanna know?

I like the setup, but man they are pricey. I got lucky on a icecap model for 30$ for a double mount.
I’m retired, so I’m on a budget. Bought some open box heater magnetic mounts, but they were way too small for my heater diameters. Also they weren’t returnable, as they were clearance, open box.

What size did you use, how thick was the glass or acrylic, and what did you mount.

This is a helpful resource

Sorry I missed this back in July

Edit: I have 3/8 inch glass I think.

What I use won't be the same for you, but I've used 1/2 and 3/4 OD 1/4 & 1/2 inch thick plastic coated magnets for a few different projects. Mounted rock shelfs, 3d printed probe holders and a few other uses. 3/8 and 1/2 inch glass. Never bothered with the "aquarium" magnets, they sell.

They aren't expensive, order a few and see what works for your application.

Thanks for the info. Been considering this myself.

I don't know what to say then. By the time diy is done, you usually end up at the cost to buy it and be done with it.

One thing I can say is that the plastic coated magnets hold up long term. I have some stuff dating back to 2018 that's been continuously immersed in saltwater with no signs of leakage from the magnet.
