I'm looking to start dosing kalk.
From the bits I've read and watched it's recommended to keep as much air out as possible.
Obviously with a hard Plastic container I can't seal it as it'd create a vacuum.
What about using a collapsible water storage bucket ?

Those are interesting and quite likely to work. However, if you only stir kalk initially, then a thin crust will form on the surface of the solution so that air really isn’t a problem IME.

I was looking at making a weeks worth at a time, not sure how much that'll be at the moment.
I'm still learning about it but from what I've read it loses potency the more co2 is drawn into it.
I wouldn't be stiring it, just mix it up and leave it to be dosed

I use a stirrer now, but for over 20 years, I mixed up a large brute trash can of it. This lasted me about a month. Then, added more water and lime and repeat. As long as the surface is not disturbed after initial mixing, the outer crust (likely mostly calcium carbonate) will protect the calcium hydroxide solution from the further effects of carbon dioxide.
