Kalk in Reefer top off?

Is anyone out there using kalkwasser in the reefer top off? I am interested in starting this but wanted to make sure others are doing so without any issues. Thanks in advance!

I know some do it but kalk is tough on pumps. I decided to just do a drip into my sump from a 1 gallon container.

Well I'm an exception. I have my Waterbox sump in my basement so I have all the room in the world to put it.

I do. Replacement pump for my ATO is only 20 bucks. I soak it in vinegar once every 3-4 weeks anyway.

I tried kalk in the reefer 250 top-off. U need to do constant check on the float valve as it gets jammed frequently from the kalk precipitate.

That’s exactly what I was concerned about. I think I’m going to attempt a drip. My biggest issue is maintaining an elevated pH
