Anyone know if 100ml/min is too fast for dosing Kalk in a 200gal DT? I have a Litermeter and it can’t properly dose lower than 100ml/min. I’m looking to start using dosing, but don’t want to mess anything up.

How many minutes might that run for at a time?

It will also depend on how fast it gets mixing into a larger seawater volume.

Adding that to a slow exchanging sump is definitely a problem. Adding it to very high flow, turbulent water is not a problem.

My sump has about a 600gph (3x turn over rate). The skimmer would add flow in the dosing chamber as well. Do you think it would be better to increase the turn over rate (return pump) or add a powerhead in the sump section for that turbulent flow?

Edit: I plan on dosing 300ml (3 mins) every hour for 24 cycles/day.

What is the approximate sump volume?

OK, let's look at adding 300 mL of saturated limewater to 14 gallons.

If we mix it in fast,
The effect on alk is a boost by 0.65 dKH.

That will boost pH by about 0.3 pH units.

I think that is OK if it mixes fast into that 14 gallons, and any removal and influx of new water (quite a bit at 600 gph) in those 3 minutes will decrease the effect.

So I'd go for it!
