As the title states, kalk isn't keeping up anymore a lot of my sps has been taking off lately.

What's are some suggestions people have? Best doser setup?

2-part dosing is the way to go. You can buy your calcium and alkalinity in bulk. The best way is to determine your daily consumption and use a dosing pump to replenish each day. You can set up a doser to dose several times a day which will keep your parameters steady.

If you wanted to try adding vinegary to your Kalk mixture it will help further saturate the mix.

I still use kalk and just supplement whatever else is needed with 2 part dosing.

I was trying this myself and had issues with consistency, parameters kept jumping due to inconsistencies in evaporation.

Both alkalinity and calcium were swinging while using kalk, now that I'm no longer using it they're more predictable and consistent.

Congrats on having your SPS take off. That is an awesome thing to happen. Personally I've used 2 part, Calcium Reactor, Kalk Stirrer. The 2 part worked good and I've got an SPS buddy thats had great sucess from it. Personally I hated to consistantly buy mix, monthly, making sure my dosing pump was set correctly and making sure my dosing line did not clog up. The Calcium Reactor along with a Kalk Stirrer , other than the initial set up cost, works great and aother than a tweak here and there runs for months without having to mix anything. Less maintance to me was the way to go. Not to mention your getting your trace elements from your reactor withough having to dose anything. My levels stay stable and seem very constance. I'm not always home to add two part and with the Cacium reactor it seems to run itself for about 6 months before I have to add media.
If your getting the growth then IMO you going to have to use 2 part or a Calicum Reactor and both can be used in conjunction with Kalk. Good luck

I have used both a Cal reactor as well as two part dosing. Both work well and both have their merits. I think that two part dosing (in my opinion) is superior for SPS tanks less than, say, 150-200 gallons. After that I think a Calcium reactor is best. Again, this is just my personal findings and opinion. On my Elos 160 I run a Bubble Magus triple doser (only dosing cal and alk). It is incredibly easy to setup and dial in….I couldn't be happier. Once I get back to a larger, 200 gallon tank, I'll dust off my Cal reactor and bring it back into play.
