Kalk Outside

Any issues I should anticipate in having a reservoir of kalk outside and drawing from it to my tank?

1. It never gets below 40 degrees and never beaches 100 degrees outside
2. Reservoir will be in the shade and will be a black UV resistant plastic barrel.
3. There will be an airtight lid but I will drill the tiniest hole to make sure I don't create a vacuum in the bin when my doser pulls from it.

If anyone has done this, would love details on what you did and any negative effects or problems you encountered.

Should be fine. Calcium hydroxide dissolves somewhat more when colder and somewhat less when warmer.

@Variant Did you ever set this up? I am thinking of doing the same in my ibc 275g holding tank as I am dosing a few gallons a day and don't want to be making kalk so often. I am in South Florida, but my holding tank is also covered and in the shade.
