Kalk Question

It should mix decently (likely not as well as it would with a stirrer). However, you would need for the RO to pass through or at least right over the kalk. Otherwise, it is likely that a lot of RO would just enter and then run out of the the canister without much kalk.

I was thinking once in a while i would give it a bloody good shake lol

When I built my Kalk reactor, I used an Amazon magnetic stirrer and an OXO Container. Drilled some holes and used some 1/4” RO fittings. Super easy and was like $75 total. I basically did a DIY version of the Ice Cap Kalk reactor

Hi

I have a old RO system canister. If i put Kalk in it then run my top off water through it will that mix it up and saturate the water ? it would save adding it to my ato tank and keep it air tight its a bit like one of the below

I made a DIY design very similar to tunze's inline calcium dispenser out of a gallon water jug that sat inline of my ATO. The diy ato I was using at the time was a reduced down MJ so it had enough kick to fully stir the kalk when it ran.

Randy is right though, full sat wont be maintained in your setup, and I myself eventially switched to an actual kalk reactor.

I don’t think you would want to shake as that would introduce a lot of air. I think the magnetic stirrer is a great idea for your setup. I would still run rigid tubing to at least an inch or two of where the kalk would sit.

Hi
As it will be a closed system there will not be any air in the system
