Kalk question

I have always been dosing alk via ATO (5.5 tablespoon per bucket). I gently make it in the ATO bucket, let it sit for at least few hours before hook the power back up.

question is, the kalk mix is not quit clear after only a few hours and I wonder if that cause any harm.

it clears up overnight but then it would dump about a gallon of fresh rodi into my 120 due to evaporation.

thoughts suggestions?

It will raise ph much more because it contains more calcium hydroxide. Thats the main concern.

You’re fine as long as you aren’t seeing any little clumps of kalk being pumping into your sump by the ato. I run a 20gallon brute can full of kalk solution that I mix and hook back up an hour later with no ill effects.

Im not sure how much ph raising effect that might have but you could aks someone in the chemistry forum. I dont worry about mine this way but it might be worth waiting. I dose mine with a doser.

It’s been about 4 hours and it still cloudy. If I let it sit over night then it’s clear.

I dose mine like that but depends how big your tank is and how much you dose. Id use it as is.
