Has anyone ever tried to run pump out of sump, tank water through reactor instead of fresh ro/di water. Reason I'm asking is I would like to run on a set program and eliminate through topping off only. Would it work?
And go...

You cannot use seawater in a calcium hydroxide reactor.

You will precipitate magnesium hydroxide and calcium carbonate inside the reactor, and will deplete the tank water of magnesium and possibly alkalinity.

Why not run a pump from your top off container to your Kalk reactor that is controlled by a timer, etc? It would be independent of your ATO pump, but it would collect from the same reservoir.

I could.

It's been working well. It's only been setup for 2 weeks now. However, I have found my levels are staying consistent compared to before where I would see a drop within a couple days.

I keep looking at it, but that's just to make sure the timers are working and that everything is still working as it should. So far, so good.
