Kalk reactor questions

Made a kalk reactor from a brute trashcan to dose 2 tanks. Have a powerhead raised off the bottom that runs 3 times a day for 15 minutes to stir it. Biggest question is with the lid on I don't think the seal is that tight - will the kalk solution weaken over time if air can get in easily? Should I put some foam or something around the top edge for a better seal?

I’ve ran a twenty gallon brute can full of kalk mix and a jebao doser with no noticeable weakening of the solution. I didn’t run circulation pumps, so there was always a crust on the surface, so there’s that to consider.
