Per Randy's articles I have always considered Kalk saturated at 2 tsp/gallon. Now, I find the calculator for dKH use when dosing Kalk and it show 100% saturation at .667 teaspoons.

What's up with that?

I dose Kalk by adding to my ATO (6.8 G/Day)

Here is the calculator: Kalk Contribution Calculator

Kalk is fully saturated when no more dissolves and settles. Thats the best way to gauge it imo.

On that calculator the amount of .667 is for calcium oxide, which is quicklime. At least one of the articles says that quicklime is more concentrated. So I guess it depends on if you have calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide..

Ca(OH)2 is calcium hydroxide, i believe? CAO = Calcium Oxide. The calculator has the option for either and the option for Ca(OH)2 works out to the saturation of 100% at .667 tsp. and the option of CAO shows 100% saturation at .36
