Since my 2 part dosing keeps going up I've decided to start using kalkwasser.

I bought some BRS kalkwasser and followed the directions and added 2 tsp to 1 gallon of water. The directions say to let it rest for 1 hour before adding to my ATO system. I am starting slow and just feeling this out so I am using a gravity drip. I will invest in a better way if I like the direction this goes.

The solution never really gets clear. It gets transparent but not clear. I can see the extra kalk resting on the bottom of the container. Even after resting in a sealed jug overnight it doesn't get clear.

Is this normal? Am I okay here?

When I used to use what we would call back in the day lime water which is the same as kalk we would mix it in a jug and shake the living heck out of it and then let it sit for a couple days. Then we would siphon the clear liquid off and leave the gunk in the bottom of the jug.

Some people these days use the entire solution but back when we did it we never ever used what was settled on the bottom of the container.

Sorry I should probably edit my post, I would mix it up and shake it really good and let it sit for 24 hours. Use like a small airline tube and siphon all the clear solution out into a different container. The lime water would always have a slight slight little Haze to it and we also drip gravity fed the system and it would disperse clear once it hit the system. I think you'll be okay but then again I've never purchased BRS kalk before so I'm going off the old school way. Just don't add the fuzzy looking crap in the bottom of your mixing container ;)
