i have custom 150 gallon reef (60x24x24) that am going to start i have a geo 618 calcium reactor and a 618 geo kalk wasser reactors i was thinking of selling the kalk reactor what do you think is kalk needed the calcium says it can be uesd up to a 450 gallon tank ????

Wel I had it on a 120 48x24x24 and cal-was always in the 500 ph- 14 everything was so high but knowing that the cal is rated for 450 and I have a 150 I was thinking selling it ???

gallon ratings on calcium reactors are hardly an accurate way of rating them.

I"m a big fan of kalkwasser reactors...hence my writeup in the Chemistry section :)

If you can keep you your calcium using only the kalk reactor, just do that. Personally, I'd get my kalk reactor going, and see what I can keep my calcium at. If you still need additional calcium input, then add the calcium reactor to supplement. I've never had issues with keeping calcium high when using my kalk reactor...but then again...my biggest tank until now was 76 gallons.

I believe that one compliments the other I know with my tank full of sps calcium reactor does great at keeping up with alk strontium and mag but falls short on calcium that then my kalk reactor makes up for! So I'd rundown them both in the long run!
