I mixed my kalk and at the bottom there is white powder. I know there is supposed to be sludge though what does this mean. Also does anyone use a tunze osmolator with kalk

I use a Tunze with kalk. Are there any issues? None that I've come across. Although, every so often I clean the ato container and the pump as well.
Okay thanks. How do you keep it from sucking up the stuff on the bottom

I used a Tunze osmolator, and fully saturated limewater(Mrs. Wages). I used to make the water in a separate container, let it settle overnight, and pour the clear settled water into my top off tank the next day. I was also very careful to accurately measure the two level teaspoons per gallon, to minimize the build up in the bottom of the container. Both the mixing and the top off had loose fitting lids. You could add a piece of egg crate to the bottom of your top off container to keep the pump slightly elevated.

The sludge contains undissolved calcium hydroxide (which will dissolve in the next batch), undissolvable calcium carbonate, and impurities such as magnesium hydroxide.

It is fine to let it accumulate for a long time. I let mine go for years. :)
