Anyone using aqualifter for ato with kalk? Im planning to start kalkdosing but read that it eats through aqualifter like nobody else's business. Also, how do you clean the aqualifter

I really believe they're meant mainly for water. I had dosed kalk with one and it did fine but I don't think they're intended for chemical dosing.

I've been using aqualifter with my ATO with kalk for a three months, so far so good. I do see percipitate in the tubing so I sure it'll eventually clog.

I used it with my Kalk for months. I stopped using it and switch to the BRS 50ml ATO peristaltic pump. The aqualift was inconsistent, as the level got low in my Kalk reservoir flow from the pump got lower and lower. Also if it can siphon, the BRS won't. I had to mount the aqualifter with the input/output pointing up or it wouldn't work right. I could deal with all that except the fact flow changed as my reservoir got lower, hated that because it affected my stability of my system. I haven't had any problems with the BRS pump, love it. I control it with my APEX. Instead of using a bunch of float switches and stuff I just set the pump to come on for a set number of minutes every 1/2 hour. Stable pH, ensure it always is added, never gets stuck on, don't have to fear switches getting stuck. Works perfectly! I can't understand why everyone doesn't run their ATO/Kalk with this method.

I used one for 2 years, was still running when I took that tank down. I did use the pre-filter thingy they make for them and Drew water from 1 inch above bottom of the container.
Also I think you can buy a replacement diaphragm kit for about $5 if it does need replacement

I'm using aqualifter for ato, auto water changes in & out. Ato is dosing kalk. No issues so far and pumps are pretty cheap to replace.

I've been using the aqualifter with my ato that has kalkwasser in it.
Having said that, I had to replace it after about 3 years.
The first one was $12. The second one was $15. It's cheap enough to keep a spare on the shelf.
