Im wondering how much kalkwasser you are dosing to your tank daily?
I know it will differ from each tank dependent on ALK and CA demand. I just wanted to get a general consensus of how much you are dosing per hour or per minute.
Also, if you could include your tank size and how much coral you have.
Im mainly using Kalk to battle low pH in my tank as there is a ton of breathing going on in the same room. Since the weathers been nice here in NJ ive been able to open the windows here and there. I have noticed a bump in ALK the past two days. Only from 7.7 - 8.0. I shall see what it reads tomorrow.

I have a red sea reefer 250 about 65 gallons empty and i dose 300mls/day via a doser.

1000-1500 ml per day controlled by a doser. 80 gallon tank w/ 26 sump. ALK hovers in mid8s usually and my ph is 8.2-8.4

Nice! im always hesitant about bumping up my daily dose. Which lead to me to wonder what everyone else is doing

I have a 65 gallon tank and I dose 1200 ml kalk daily. There are 5 frags in this tank and coralline covering all of the rock. pH has a daily swing (I only dose kalk when lights are out) pH is between 8.0-8.3. Never below 8.0.

Cool, similar to my setup. I have around 5-6 frags. Guess i can probably get away with dosing a bit more. What are you dosing with?

Any kalk with high purity will do. I stir the kalk in RODI water in an 8 gallon (30L) bucket (made from HDPE so it will not react with the kalk) and let it settle for a day before I dose with a continuous dosing pump (to avoid pH spike). The container is almost airtight so no CO2 of the surrounding air will react with the fully saturated kalk. In this way I get the most pH increase. I have dosed kalk with a kalk stirrer in the past, I would notice the concentration going down after some time due to CO2 in the RODI that was added to the reactor.
