So I'm putting my kalkwasser on a dosing pump instead of my auto top off now. Problem is im good at wanting to do things and bad at math. I'm using a fully saturated solution (2 teaspoons/gallon) and want to know how much to dose to keep my alkalinity around 11 and calcium around 440? I've tried a few calculators including one on another thread and I couldn't really tell what to do with the information I'd like to dose 12 times a day so I dont hear the pump at night (it's in my bedroom) and just need to know what I should program for each dose.

There's no way to know that without knowing how much alkalinity your tank consumes per day. If you know that, you can use this calculator to determine how much to add.

In general, for every 250 ml of fully saturated limewater added to 75 gallons, alkalinity increases by 0.1 dKh. You can scale that up or down to match estimated demand, then adjust as your levels fluctuate over time.

I've actually been trying to find that calculator. And now that you mention it I feel kind of dumb for posting before making that test lol. I'm going to start with dosing it 12 times a day at 1 ml per dose and just watch ph and alk/cal change. Truth be told I want to switch to 2 part but want the experience of using kalkwasser properly. I'll keep this thread posted and ask for guidance after some testing.

I run a similar setup and just test every week and adjust my dosing based on my findings. I believe I'm up to 45ml of saturated solution dosed every hour with a pretty new SPS system.

how did this work for you starting at 1ml did you see any changes by now, i am looking to set up kalk on a dosing pump also to get familiar and learn properly, so i feel like im in your boat, thank you for your findings

Sorry for forgetting to update the post I said I would update! I ended up needing a bit more, so I believe I did 2ml 3 times a day and then 1ml for the rest (was easier to do that than totally reprogram my doser) but ended up switching to 2 part after not too long because my magnesium kept falling down, and I found it much easier to use a 2 part that included some magnesium to help maintain that automatically. In the future if I end up with a super high demand tank I may go back to using kalkwasser in addition to 2 part, but for now I find 2 part works much better.
