I’m getting ready to clean my sump and equipment and was wondering what I can do to prevent the kalk percipient. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, though I don’t know what it is. I’m dosing about 79ml/hr of saturated kalk with a kamoer dosing pump. I’m just dripping it into the high flow area of the sump; notice the red RODI drip line in the pic. Is there a way to prevent this perception?

Hmm I'm dripping kalk (can't rember how much per hour at the moment) and I get zero precipitation. I drip into the return section which has water flowing into it from 2 sides of the sump and its carried right up to the display and circulated so maybe thats why I'm not getting it?

I had plenty of precipitate where some splattered or dripped onto the walls nearby:

Figure 4. When limewater drips onto surfaces, such as the sides of a sump, precipitation of calcium carbonate takes place. The off-white coloration probably comes from metals such as iron binding to the calcium carbonate surface in the place of calcium.
