I'm just moved my tank and trying to set things up different/easier to access and work on. I'm thinking of redoing my kalk dosing, and going back to a stirrer, possibly the new icecap. The only issue ive typically ran into the past (with units like the avast k1), is that it needs to sit a little higher than the bucket that has the RO, and ends up back siphoning, which defeats the purpose some. Can you guys share your kalk set ups, and or how you have fixed this issue? Ive done a check valve, but they get clogged sooner than later.

I know some very experienced reefers who simply make saturated kalk in a bin with loose lid or very small hole to allow just a little air. They allow the crust to form on top and dose from below, no stirring. Randy H Farley has written about this.

That is another option, but for me would take too much space, which I do not have.
