Excuse my ignorance but I really do not know the answer to this, and the calculator on the BRS website does not help give an answer. I am going to quit doing kalkwasser in my ATO for various reasons. I have limited space on my dosing container. I have no problems with continuing to dose kalkwasser but I am curious on what is the difference by volume on 2 part versus kalkwasser. If I am going to save a good bit of space by going with the BRS powders I am going to go that route. So how much more potent is the BRS powder once mixed versus kalkwasser once mixed? If I can go way more days before changing a dosing container that would be very attractive to me with a busy lifestyle.

It would depend on the strength of "your" kalk slurry, to the strength of BRS products.

If you could post how much kalk power you mix per gallon and post how much you dose per day.

I would think that Randy could convert those numbers.

The max, which I think is two teaspoons per gallon.

For kalk I used this calculator alot you can probably reverse engineer the answers.

Keep in mind, I am not looking for an answer on how much of something to dose. I am looking at what is the difference in concentration between the two products. The whole point of the question is lets say I have a container that is two gallons max, which one would go further in days. Obviously two part would go further but by how far? And yes I know the 2 part would take a gallon of each.

Alright, For Randy or others, how much do you dose per day?

I replaced all evaporated water with saturated limewater (or less than saturated for some periods when demand was lower, like 3/4). That was a few gallons a day for my total system of a 120 gal display and about 300 gallons total.

A two part a vastly more potent than limewater. Depending on the two part chosen, like 30-60 times as potent.

In my system 1 ml of BRS alkalinity solution = about 50 ml saturated kalkwasser. I use BRS soda ash for alkalinity.
