I'm considering switching to a kalkwasser drip to maintain my Calcium and Alkalinity levels but the pH in my tank runs around 8.1-8.3 already. If I start adding kalkwasser will it cause my pH to go too high?

Also if I understand it how it works correctly for the kalkwasser to increase alkalinity the hydroxide has to combine with carbon dioxide in the tank. If my pH is already at a reasonable level does that mean I have a lower amount of carbon dioxide in the tank and the kalkwasser won't raise alkalinity as effectively?

IME ......

you need to know exactly what your ALK uptake is daily, weekly, etc.

before you know it kalk can jump dKH Alk to 16 burning all your corals before you know it

.

I've already looked on a reefing calculator to know how much saturated limewater to add to replace my 2 part I'm just not sure how high it'll raise my pH and whether the available carbon dioxide in the tank changes how effective it is at raising the alkalinity.
