how often do you add kalkwasher to your tank and does it maintain your calcium?

I use it in my auto top off. So I use it every day. About a gal a day. I am mixing 4tsp per 5 gal. Ca seems to be steady 420

I drip mine overnight starting at midnight when I get home from work till about 9am. 1 drop every 4 seconds, into my 55 gallon tank. That keeps my calcium maintained at 440 ppm and alk at about 2.8 meg/l.
